Eligibility in Physics: Candidates with M.Sc in Electronic Science are not treated as eligible for Assistant Professor in Physics. I know a person with M.Sc in Electronic Science who appeared for interview in Physics but the expert committee informed him/her that he/she is not eligible for Physics.

But, in a letter dated 23^rd August, 1991, from the Education department, Govt. of West Bengal it was clearly stated that candidates with M.Sc Electronic Science are also eligible for Lecturer posts in Physics in Government and non-Government college.
